Fujinon XF 18-55mm F/2.8-4 R LM OIS

Fujinon XF 18-55mm F/2.8-4 R LM OIS (see on eGlobalCentral or Amazon)

Order date: november 2017
Reseller: eGlobalCentral.fr (299,99€ alone) but included in the Fujifilm X-T20 case kit.

It’s a “basic” kit lens. This being the case, it is absolutely not at the same price as the XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR which has the double advantage of being “Water Resistant” (protected from water and dust) but also with fixed aperture all along the focal lengths. Only, even on eGlobalCentral, it is currently € 939.99 (and Amazon)

In deep

So, to come back to this 18-55, it remains a good lens and without reaching the quality of 16-55, it still remains in the high-end Fuji lens. It is an appreciable feature of Fuji to provide kit objectives of this quality. No low-end with them. By the way, even the XC range is of largely honorable quality (see my XC 50-230mm).

R : Means that there is a “Ring” to adjust the aperture. It’s common on Fujinon lenses, a Pancake like the 27mm does not have because of its size.

LM : stands for “Linear Motor” for faster and more discreet autofocus

OIS : stands for “Optical Image Stabilization”

In addition

In order to be able to initiate me to the long exposure but also and above all, to be able to make videos while keeping a low shutter speed, I bought a Gobe variable polarizing filter, diameter 58mm
